Design & Display – POCO X6 Neo 5G

The POCO X6 Neo 5G comes in three color options: Astral Black, Horizon Blue, and Martian Orange, with the Martian Orange variant being particularly eye-catching. The back panel features a marble-like finish, and the device’s slim profile (7.69mm thick) makes it easy to hold, while its weight of around 174 grams ensures it feels light in hand.

Both the front and back panels are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and the phone has an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and water splashes. The top panel houses a 3.5mm audio jack, IR Blaster, and a speaker, while the bottom features a speaker grill and a USB Type-C port. On the left, you’ll find the volume and power buttons, while the SIM card slot is on the right, accommodating two SIM cards.

The device sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1000 nits and ultra-thin bezels, offering a great viewing experience, especially for gamers, thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the POCO X6 Neo 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor, built on 6nm processing technology, paired with the Mali-G57 GPU. The phone supports up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be virtually expanded to 20GB. It also features a hybrid SIM slot, allowing the use of a microSD card of up to 1TB, though you would need to remove one SIM card to do so.

In terms of performance, the phone handles high-graphics games without lag, and multitasking is smooth, with no noticeable heating issues during extended use. The 5000mAh battery, coupled with 33W fast charging, ensures that the device easily lasts a day and a half on a full charge. The included fast charger can fully charge the phone in about 35-40 minutes.

Software Experience – POCO X6 Neo 5G

The POCO X6 Neo 5G runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, with a promise of an upgrade to HyperOS based on Android 14 in the future. The device comes with several pre-installed apps, which might be overwhelming for first-time smartphone users who are used to simpler feature phones. However, these apps can be uninstalled as per the user’s convenience.

Camera – POCO X6 Neo 5G

The smartphone features a dual rear camera setup with a 108MP main camera and a 2MP macro lens, aligned vertically along with an LED flash. Unfortunately, there’s no ultra-wide camera, which might be a downside for some users. The primary camera supports 3x in-sensor zoom and captures 1080p HD videos at 30fps. While the main camera performs well in daylight, producing decent photos, images tend to pixelate upon zooming. Low-light performance is average and might not meet expectations.

For selfies and video calls, the POCO X6 Neo 5G is equipped with a 16MP front camera that also records 1080p HD videos at 30fps. It includes features like AI portrait mode, HDR, palm shutter, and voice shutter. The front camera is suitable for vlogging and social media content, while the rear camera delivers good quality compared to other brands in this price range.
