Vivo T3 Pro 5G Review: Launched with many amazing features, know review and price

Vivo T3 Pro 5G Review: The Vivo T3 Pro 5G has been launched in India with a starting price of ₹21,999. This device boasts a range of impressive features that make it an attractive option. But how do these features fare in real-world use? Let’s dive into this detailed review by India Today Tech.

Vivo T3 Pro 5G Review Overview

  • The Vivo T3 Pro features a curved AMOLED display.
  • It is equipped with a substantial 5,500mAh battery.
  • The phone sports a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

After launching the Vivo T3 5G in March, the Chinese company has now introduced its sibling, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G, to the Indian market. As with most ‘Pro’ variants, we expected some minor upgrades over the standard T3 model. The Vivo T3 Pro 5G certainly lives up to these expectations with its significant enhancements. For context, while the Vivo T3 5G was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, the T3 Pro 5G features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. The Pro variant comes with a 6.77-inch curved display, a 5,500mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel primary Sony camera, all of which are upgrades over the Vivo T3 specs.

These upgrades are not just theoretical. After using the device for a week, I found that these improvements are very much real. While the Vivo T3 Pro 5G isn’t perfect, its advantages far outweigh its drawbacks. Let’s explore my detailed findings.

Premium Design and Build – Vivo T3 Pro 5G

The Vivo T3 Pro stands out with its leather back panel and golden accents, giving it a premium feel for a device priced under ₹25,000. I’m using the Sandstone Orange variant, which looks vibrant and cool. If you prefer something different, there’s also an Emerald Green option, which is equally attractive.

Despite a large camera island on the upper half of the back panel, the design remains clean. The dual-camera setup and ring flash are neatly integrated. Notably, even with a 5,500mAh battery, the phone maintains a slim profile. Vivo claims the T3 Pro 5G is the thinnest curved phone in its segment at 7.49 mm thickness. However, the Moto G85, launched last month at ₹17,999, also features a 7.5 mm thickness and a curved display, proving to be a well-rounded device on its own.

In terms of design, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G is impressive, with an eye-catching and premium feel.

Stunning Display – Vivo T3

The Vivo T3 Pro excels in this area with its 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display. It offers excellent picture quality with low power consumption. The display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Colors are vibrant, and the screen is smooth. However, the curved display can lead to accidental touches. Holding the phone in landscape mode, I occasionally touched the edges, causing video pauses or window closures. This issue is more about the nature of curved displays rather than a flaw of the Vivo T3 Pro.

Aside from accidental touches, the T3 Pro’s display provides a fantastic viewing experience. The curved edges contribute to a sleek look with smaller bezels, enhancing the enjoyment of video watching and gaming.

Powerful Performance – Vivo T3 Pro 5G Review

The Vivo T3 Pro 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and comes with 8GB of RAM. It is available in two storage variants: 128GB and 256GB. Running on FunTouch OS based on Android 14, the OS features a sidebar similar to Samsung’s One UI. This sidebar allows adding app shortcuts in a slideable drawer accessible from the edge of the screen, which is great for multitasking. The device handles all tasks effortlessly. Whether scrolling Instagram, watching YouTube, or playing high-graphic games, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G delivers a stellar performance. I played Asphalt 8 and Call of Duty on the device without encountering any lag.

Additionally, the phone activates a gaming mode during heavy gaming sessions. This mode provides a sidebar with details about CPU and GPU performance, view enhancements, off-screen auto-play, remaining battery, and game duration. It also includes a WhatsApp picture-in-picture mode for seamless video watching and multitasking.

Another multitasking feature is the split-screen option, allowing you to use two apps simultaneously. You can take a screenshot with three fingers and swipe to open the split-screen.

Interestingly, the device does not overheat significantly even during intense gaming. I ran some benchmark tests, including 3D Mark and Geekbench 6, and here are the results:

Challenges – Vivo T3 Pro 5G Review

As noted earlier, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G is impressive but not flawless. One downside is the heavy bloatware, which can be uninstalled but requires a thorough process for a clean experience. The phone also lacks advanced AI features, with the AI functionalities feeling more like gimmicks. The Jovial personal assistant, while useful for daily tasks and alarms, does not offer much beyond basic features. In the same price range, other smartphones like the Nothing Phone 2a offer more valuable AI capabilities, including ChatGPT integration and AI news widgets.

Battery Life – Vivo T3 Pro 5G

The Vivo T3 Pro 5G comes with a 5,500mAh battery and supports 80W charging. It takes just 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%. While charging does warm up the device slightly, it cools down quickly.

The battery life is impressive. After an hour of high-graphic gaming, the battery percentage dropped by only 5%. Similarly, 30 minutes of YouTube video watching resulted in just a 5% decrease in battery life.

Camera Quality – Vivo T3 Pro 5G Review

The Vivo T3 Pro 5G features a 50-megapixel primary Sony camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. I experimented with different modes and was quite impressed. The rear camera captures crisp and vivid images. Daylight photos are excellent, showing true-to-life colors. Surprisingly, the night mode performs very well too.

The Pro mode excels in capturing object details and textures, producing beautiful images that often made me stick to this mode.

The portrait mode is also commendable, working well on both the front and rear cameras. However, the front camera, with its 16-megapixel resolution, lags behind the rear camera in performance. While not poor, the front camera’s performance is noticeably inferior.

Should You Buy the Vivo T3 Pro 5G?

If you’re considering a smartphone under ₹25,000, you might also look at the iQOO Z9s Pro 5G, which resembles the Vivo T3 Pro 5G in design and specs. The key difference is that the Vivo T3 Pro 5G starts at ₹21,999, while the iQOO Z9s Pro 5G starts at ₹24,999.

The price makes the Vivo T3 Pro 5G a better choice, offering a large battery, a stunning display, and good camera performance. If you’re open to spending a bit more, the Nothing Phone 2a is also worth considering.
